Legacy UDSv3 System Shutdown

Until the Full Shutdown of the NACC Legacy Portal
The NACC Legacy UDSv3 system is being retired as part of our program-wide transition to the modern, cloud-based NACC Data Platform. This shutdown is necessary to protect data integrity, reduce technical risk, and ensure NACC can meet federal requirements for completing the migration to UDSv4 and the new infrastructure. This page provides key dates, requirements, and support resources to help ADRCs prepare for the shutdown and finalize all remaining UDSv3 data safely and on time.
Key Milestones
12/30 - Ending Collection
- Last day to collect UDSv3 data
- Allow time to complete data entry and consensus
1/30 - Ending Submission
- Last day to submit – allow time to resolve errors and alerts
2/27 - Ending finalization of data
- All errors and alerts must be resolved in the legacy platform for any data being transitioned to the new NACC Data Platform
What Happens After March 1?
Beginning March 1, 2026, the Legacy UDSv3 system will be fully retired. All ADRCs and affiliated studies will transition to the modern NACC Data Platform and the new ADRC Portal for all data submission, review, auditing, and reporting. After this date, no data entry, edits, or access will be possible in the Legacy Portal.
What ADRCs Will Do After March 1
- Submit, view, audit, and access all data exclusively through the ADRC Portal.
- Use new Portal-based reporting tools for UDS, neuropathology, and other modalities.
- Access updated documentation, training materials, and support directly within the Portal.
What NACC Will Do After March 1
- Remove all non-NACC users from the Legacy Portal. Centers with any remaining unfinalized data will be contacted in advance.
- Complete the final transition of all UDSv3 data to the cloud-based NACC Data Platform.
- Perform verification checks to ensure all data has been successfully transferred and validated.
- Notify ADRCs once migration is complete.
- Archive and permanently shut down the Legacy System.
Key Reminders
- After shutdown, no UDSv3 or earlier data will be available for edits or corrections.
- All future data collection must use UDSv4 (or current standalone or module version), submitted through the ADRC Portal or the REDCap-based EDC system.
